Galeria Nuno Centeno announces Sobral Centeno’s new solo exhibition titled querer dizer nada, tudo querer dizer, curated by Óscar Faria.
Sobral Centeno invites us to enter a territory where painting exists outside of time, in an eternal present made of gestures, colors, and signs. The artist explores the space between figuration and abstraction, incorporating asemic writing; a visual "almost writing," without decipherable words, that transforms the gaze into free reading.
Between heads, symbols, architecture, and calligraphic strokes, Centeno constructs his own language, designed to say everything and nothing at the same time. Each work is an invitation for the viewer to reflect on their own text, participating in the enigma of art, where body, thought, and gesture meet. - Óscar Faria
