Galeria Nuno Centeno is proud to announce its first-ever inclusion in the Open House Porto itinerary.
Open House Worldwide is a set of events that allow free tours to different iconic buildings across various cities in the world. These visits allow a debate about architecture as a discipline and its implications on the preservation of history, the transformation of landscapes, and our collective memories.

The 11th edition of the Open House Porto is themed around Pentimenti – an artistic process within painting that describes an overlap of layers and brushstrokes, that with time, become visible maps of the hesitations, changes, and thought processes of an artist.
Curated by Francisco Ascensão and Maria Souto de Moura, the Open House Porto 2026 program  will be inviting visitors to perform the same kind of analysis applied to architecture. These layer decodings will allow to understand buildings that were renovated in order to prevent their obsolescence (Resposta); buildings that subvert their original premise of their construction (Reação) and the ones holding on for a future resolution (Pergunta).
Organised by Casa da Arquitetura, this edition will be opening doors to more than 50 buildings of different eras and typologies across Porto, Matosinhos, Maia and Gondomar, with the help of area experts and about 400 volunteers.

Galeria Nuno Centeno moved to Rua da Alegria in 2017, settling into a former Cooperativa dos Pedreiros’ working station warehouse with 1000 m2. The renovation was projected by the architect André Gonçalves.
Galeria Nuno Centeno is numbered 26 on the itinerary and will have free admission July 4th from 2pm to 7pm and July 5th from 2pm to 6pm. There will be guided tours at 3pm led by architect Matilde Seabra and at 4pm by André Gonçalves. Another set of tours will also be conducted by volunteers.
