Works by João Penalva, José Pedro Croft, Maria Capelo and Sobral Centeno will be on display until this Sunday, May 31st.

João Penalva (b. Lisbon, 1949) transitioned from contemporary dance to visual arts after studying at the Chelsea School of Art. His work uses diverse mediums, such as video, photography, and painting to create narratives that blur reality and fiction.

José Pedro Croft (b. Porto, 1957) is a Lisbon-based artist known for his geometric sculptures and paintings. His practice connects sculpture, drawing, and engraving with a strict focus on geometry and architectural forms.

Maria Capelo (b. Lisbon, 1970) explores visual memory through landscape art. Exhibiting since 1996, she transposes elements like trees, hills, and horizons into structural, evocative compositions.

Sobral Centeno (b. Porto, 1948) uses rapid, chaotic brushstrokes and symbolic themes like ladders or text to map out human memory. Based in Porto, his work captures moments of consciousness through intense abstraction.
