Born in 1957 (Porto, Portugal). Lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal.

José Pedro Croft is considered as one of the main Portuguese visual artists widely known for his geometric sculptures and paintings. His work transits without hierarchies between sculpture, drawing and engraving.
Studied Painting at ESBAL (Escola Superior Belas Artes de Lisboa) and Sculpture with João Cutileiro.
Croft’s work is present in the collections of various international museums and institutions such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Fundação de Serralves in Porto, the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon or the Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio de Janeiro.
